I'm particularly intersted in the devops and infrastructure as code movements and how they are changing the business of IT and all of our collective roles in it. To paraphrase Opscode's Adam Jacob: "we're all programmers, sysadmins just program in crummy languages."
I'm currently the lead architect within the operations and IT department at HERE, The world's leader in digital maps and location services.
Between 1999 and 2012 I worked in internet operations at Turner Broadcasting, with focuses on infrastructure automation, web applications, web server plugins and performance, and content management systems for Turner's internet brands, including CNN.com, Adultswim.com, and SI.com among many others.
I'm an alumnus of Boston University, where I studied history and education.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two sons and while adapting to life in the Suburbs. I enjoy improv theater. I'm a history buff, especially Naval History, from 1860 to 1922, and aerospace history. I like hot dogs.
