Mike Schmisek

I'm the president and founder of Premier Mountain Insurance, an independent agency I launched in October 2019 after more than a decade running one of Colorado's top-performing Farmers Insurance agencies. As an independent agent, I represent a broad panel of carriers, which lets me match each client with the right coverage at a fair price rather than fit them into a single company's box.

My early career was in business management and leadership. What pulled me into insurance — and into small business ownership — was the chance to build long-term relationships with clients and make a practical difference in their lives. I opened the Mike Schmisek Insurance Agency in 2008, and a client-first model earned the agency a series of awards for both quality of business and growth. That track record led to speaking and training requests from peers around the country and to my role co-founding Social Heroes, a company that helps insurance agents grow their practices online. In 2019, I took the next step and went independent with Premier Mountain Insurance.

I was born and raised in Fargo, North Dakota, with a brief stop in Woodbury, Minnesota before my family moved to Highlands Ranch, Colorado during my high school years. I graduated from Highlands Ranch High School in 1997 and went on to Colorado State University, earning a degree in Political Science with a minor in History in 2001. Today I live in the foothills of south Jefferson County with my wife, our three daughters, and our dog. Outside the office, you'll find me camping, hiking, mountain biking, or at the local CrossFit gym.
