Mike Stechschulte

Metro Detroit, Michigan

Author of the popular newspaper column "Certain Faith," the website that bears its name and a sister blog on the crucial topics of faith and reason that dominate the world around us. A fan of common sense, Mike's motto is an old saying by G.K. Chesterton, that "the object of opening the mind, as of the mouth, is to shut it again on something solid." That something, in every sense of the word, is Christ.

Growing up in the Motor City, Mike is both religious and an avid sports fan, which is basically the same thing. Once a week, Mike kills himself playing goalie in an adult men's ice hockey league, and spends his summers chasing golf balls into trees. Mike's also an amateur photographer / videographer and runs a small newspaper (hey, everyone's got a day job). And he shares a birthday with Batman.

These days, Mike's busy living life, writing about it, and thanking God for his lovely wife, Christine, who still puts up with it all.
