In six short years, Mike Wilson has built a solid reputation as the “go to guy” for live entertainment production, management and design. While still in his teens, Mike worked as a freelance technician in Peterborough and Toronto, spent two years as Technical Director of a 250 seat touring and production theatre and, for a further two years, took on the role of the theatre’s Summer Manager. During that same period, Mike developed his sound and recording engineering talents, working with numerous bands and acts. As an accomplished drummer and musician, Mike brings a refined ear and consummate skills to his sound engineering work. Despite a hectic schedule, Mike is a passionate supporter of community arts and gives willingly of his time and talent to any and all events that he can. Mike has also had the pleasure of being part of the house crew for several large-scale productions at the Ryerson Theatre, serving as crew, lighting operator and sound operator. Recently Mike has begun work with the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts where he looks forward to many medium and large format theatre, concert, dance and opera performances to be staged. Mike is the Founder and Operations Manager of Meet The Dude Productions, a labour services and production services company based in Toronto. Meet The Dude Productions exploded onto the scene in 2007 and 2008, providing crew for some of the largest corporate and arena shows across Ontario, Manitoba and Quebec. A short list of credits includes the Tragically Hip Canadian Tour 2007 & 2008, Great Big Sea, the Barenaked Ladies, Luminato 2007 & 2008, Nuit Blanche 2007 & 2008, Snowball ’08, Steamwhistle UnSigned nights, the Michael Lee Chang Crystal Opening at the ROM and the MMVAs. Mike is highly respected in the industry, not only for his own skills, but also for assembling a group of more than 80 talented technicians and managers, who consistently bring reliability, creativity and a positive attitude to all of their work.
