An independent board director at Central Garden and Pet, Mike Edwards has extensive experience as the CEO of multiple companies in Oregon, as well as organizations in Colorado, Michigan, and Massachusetts. Following more than three years as the chief executive officer of lucy Activewear in Portland, he relocated to Ann Arbor to serve as the chief executive of Borders. Mike Edwards’ experience in these roles informed his work as chief marketing officer at Staples in Framingham, Massachusetts, a position he held for over three years. Between 2015 and 2017, Mr. Edwards resumed his work as a CEO, this time with eBags.com in Denver.
Mr. Edwards studied business at Drexel University in Philadelphia, achieving his bachelor of science with honors. He has received a number of accolades over the course of his career as an executive leader, including an ADL American Heritage Award and Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of the Year honors. He was also recognized by the International Council of Shopping Centers during his time with Portland’s lucy Activewear, winning a Brand of the Year award.
