Mike Ames

I started my career in IT, then moved over into recruitment before setting up my own IT and recruitment business in 1989.

I grew it to about £40m and sold it to a US listed company in 1998.

I then started Crimson, another IT and recruitment company, but these days my only involvement is as the company chairman; a position I am honoured to hold.

I now spend my time working with professional services companies to build sales environments, develop the sales skills of their staff and sometimes roll my sleeves up and take responsibility for delivering revenue growth for them myself.

I believe that sales is an honourable pursuit and when carried out in a systematic, organised and controlled way it really isn't that hard to be good at it.
