Michael Burkentine

From Graduating at South West High School to working towards my Civil Engineering degree at Penn State University, I have been a part of many life-enriching and educational events. During my long hours of hard work and studying at Penn State, I also managed to be a part of sports teams and club project teams. I was named Project Team Manager for the Penn State Residential Construction Management Competition for 2012, which has taken me to Florida to compete at the International Builders Show. In 2010 I was selected to go to the University of New Brunswick to conduct research on ways to improve products for roofing, especially in places like tornado ally in Kansas. I also recieved an internship at Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, where I was asked to give presentations to the Corporate Board on my use of the iPad and how it could benefit their company, which resulted in the company purchasing 15 iPads for a Disney World project and a high rise building in Maryland. Recently I have started a company called Pink Spoon Frozen Yogurt. This is a frozen yogurt shop that was designed from the ground up. From forming the s-corp to highing my employees it has been a step in the right direction. The goal behind Pink Spoon was to create a place that people love and also create an income producing asset that will benefit me and my future family.

In my free time I am always brainstorming and devoting time to generating new ideas that could change people's lives. So far, this has earned me a provisional patent from the US Patent Office for an invention I created that earned me two promotional presentations at York College of Pennsylvania and is soon to start production. In the meantime, I am continuing to devote work and time into my family company, Burkentine And Sons, which my dad, Paul Burkentine, started by himself 24 years ago. It has since expanded into many sectors, all of which work towards benefiting the lives of home buyers, familys, buisness owners, and our community.

All of my hard work and dedication is made possible with the love and support of my beautiful fiance Emily Reimold.
