Mike Cale

Based in Simpsonville, South Carolina, businessman Mike Cale has worked in the food distribution and utility industries. Mike Cale served as the CEO of Utility Partners of America (UPA), a company he purchased in 2006. UPA focused worked to replace existing water, gas, and electric meters with smart meters that allow utility companies to communicate directly with their customers. Under Mr. Cale’s leadership, UPA grew its annual revenue from $2 million to nearly $45 million.

Before purchasing UPA, Mr. Cale worked for 10 years with Purity Wholesale Grocers (PWG) as the executive vice president of sales and marketing. In that role, he helped drive annual sales from less than $100 million to more than $1.2 billion. Drawing on his experience in the food distribution business, Mr. Cale opened a food distribution/arbitrage company two years after leaving his role at PWG.

Outside of his professional pursuits, Mr. Cale is an outdoorsman who enjoys fishing and playing golf. He has played in numerous golf club tournaments, winning several.
