Mike Crabtree Saskatchewan serves as the President and CEO of the Saskatchewan Research Council (SRC), where he previously held the position of Vice-President of the Energy Division. In his current role, he orchestrates strategic and operational leadership across critical sectors such as mining, energy, and oil and gas, which are integral to the prosperity of Saskatchewan.
He has also served as the Chairman of Quickthree Solutions and currently chairs WFI Inc., an oilfield service company based in Texas. His rich career portfolio includes being a Board Member of the Canadian Heavy Oil Association and the founder and CEO of Oilflow Solutions Inc. Furthermore, he has held noteworthy senior executive and R&D roles at Schlumberger Inc.
With a career of over thirty years in the oil, gas, and clean energy sectors, he has deep-rooted experience in field operations, management, and research and development. His educational background includes a master’s degree in petroleum engineering and chemistry.
He has occupied several high-ranking positions, including CEO, vice president, and executive chairman. In these roles, he has led high-performance teams, directed successful R&D projects, and formulated strategic plans to introduce groundbreaking technologies.

As the Executive Chairman of WFI Inc., he effectively guided the company through challenging economic periods by implementing strategic cost reductions while preserving essential services and staff, enabling the company to expand notably from 2017 to 2018. His leadership at Quickthree Solutions Inc. was critical in the development and lucrative sale of the company’s Frac Sand Management technology in 2018.
He is passionately committed to clean energy initiatives, evidenced by his significant contributions at Carbon Engineering, where he developed and marketed innovative carbon dioxide capture and sequestration technologies, securing a profitable partnership with Summit Power.
He has demonstrated exceptional skill in securing investments, evidenced by attracting significant funding from recognized global investors, securing $7 million in private equity for Monterra Energy, and raising $40 million for Oilflow Solutions Ltd.
