I am passionate about turning disruptive ideas into reality. My effort and excitement has been focused on the converging mobile, media and Internet industries for over 30 years now. Recently, I have also been involved in CleanTech investing. I have led successful corporate venture and open innovation groups for several multi-national corporations and have done business in all the major Innovation centers around the world. Early in my career I apprenticed as an associate at both at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and Greylock (and I have the stories to prove it!). My operating experience includes roles in engineering, product management, sales, business development and corporate development. As one of the founders of mobile computing, I was part of the small team that designed and shipped the first laptop computer. In 1999 I co-founded OmniSky, and launched a revolutionary nation-wide wireless Internet and email service. I grew up in Pasadena, CA, and have lived in Silicon Valley since attending Stanford. I enjoy endurance cycling and have participated in many organized 100-mile events.
