Mike Fly

Mike Fly is a digital producer/director whose credits include the award winning web series VERSUS VALERIE and the transmedia series SEXY NERD GIRL, as well as COMEDY BAR, WEDDING TRASHERS and IMPROV MONOLOGUE PROJECT. He is the Director of Photography for THE CASTING ROOM and the Canadian Screen Award winning series SPACE JANITORS and he directed the award winning series BUT I’M CHRIS JERICHO as well as several shorts for the Second City Network and the upcoming THE SECOND CITY PROJECT.

Mike has been working actively in the film and television industry since 1999 when he began working on the CBC series STREET CENTS, ending his 7-season tenure as the West-Coast Producer of the series. In 2001, he took part in the NSI’s Drama Prize program and also completed a CFTPA producer mentorship. He acted as a director/producer on the series 969 (RazerTV), LIVING VANCOUVER (CBC) and EXPOSURE (CBC) before moving into the digital space, where he handled client accounts as the Senior Producer for On Demand Production Network in Vancouver. He was also a junior writer on the CTV series CORNER GAS and was the picture editor for the CBC special I, MARTIN SHORT, GOES HOME in 2012.

Since moving to Toronto in 2009, Mike has focused almost exclusively on creating content for digital release, and has become a sought-after consultant because of his expertise in the space. His aggregate view count on digital projects is over 5 Million views.

Mike is currently developing a new feature film screenwriting format that combines traditional narrative structure and his 20-year history in long-from narrative-based improvisational theatre for his Masters Thesis with Staffordshire University in the UK. He also teaches a web series foundation course at Raindance in his hometown of Toronto.
