Michael Freedman

Bay Area, CA

I'm the editorial director at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Previously, I was with Stanford's Center for International Security and Cooperation. Before that I was Asia, Latin America and Europe editor at Newsweek, overseeing coverage of these regions for all international editions. I also collaborated with some of the world's top athletes on a regular sports column. Earlier, I was a writer, bureau chief and foreign correspondent at Forbes. I've taught writing and journalism, and written for a slew of print and digital publications, including the Wall Street Journal, the Atlantic.com and the smallest-circulation daily paper in the country, The Paxton Daily Record. Current interests: business, international affairs, communications, media innovation and the intersection of design, technology and high-quality writing.
