Dr. Mike Higgins leverages more than 30 years of experience in children’s ministries to oversee operations at Hope International Ministries. As President and Executive Director of Hope Children’s Home, he manages 50 employees and oversees the care of 113 children in homes in Florida, New Mexico, and Honduras. Dr. Mike Higgins holds a doctor of divinity degree from the Northeast Baptist Bible College and is a Licensed Clinical Christian Therapist.

Dr. Higgins spearheaded the $4 million Cottages of Hope project. Completely donor-funded, it was designed to allow infants and siblings to be raised together in single-unit, family-friendly homes. Built to environment standards outlined by the U.S. Green Building Council, the project is the first LEED-certified children’s home in the country.

Also leading the development of two thrift stores, Dr. Mike Higgins helped provide employment opportunities and contribute to the coverage of operational costs for the children’s homes. In recognition of his work, Dr. Higgins was voted a Community Hero by the Tampa Bay Lightning in 2016.
