I'm a freelance writer and sub-editor based in London. I have a beard and am really nice. I know a great joke about a nun, and am surprisingly good at maths. Hey, why not commission me?

I was the deputy editor of Front for a few years before it got thrown in a bin, and was a subeditor at Men's Health for a while. As a freelancer, I've written for Kerrang!, FHM, SFX, Vice, Virgin Media, Mr Hyde, Coach and Complex. I've subbed at Kerrang!, Look, Nuts, Cyclist, Jamie, Spear's and Notebook, and worked for digital agencies Cedar, Hangar Seven and Zone. I'm currently working as a freelance content producer for Comedy Central.

I'd quite like to be a sitcom writer and have spent the last couple of years scratching unsuccessfully at the seemingly impenetrable wall stopping me becoming one. By scratching unsuccessfully what I mean is writing a whole bunch of completely amazing scripts.

Other projects of mine include:

The Octopig And 59 Worse Poems: an ebook of beautifully-rhyming poems that doesn't seem to have impacted the publishing world much

Mike's Life: my general blog, mainly about writing and/or showing off

The Incredible Poetry Of Mike Rampton: dreadful/amazing poetry, mostly about food or hair

I Swear, You're Famous: flicking the Vs next to celebrities

Damp Sleeve Of Ham: bad drawings of big names drawn on a phone

Fart Policeman – The Bad Art Of Mike Rampton: various drawings and semiwonderful artworks

Three Poems About Clowns, And Some More That Aren't: a zine thing I made that very few people bought – there are PLENTY left so you should probably buy several

Cheers!
