Mike Sego is a Director of Engineering at Facebook. He leads the K12 Education team working in partnership with Summit Public Schools to build a platform for personalized learning and make it freely available to teachers and students everywhere. He grew up in a family of educators, and has a personal passion for how technology can help support a learning experience that allows every child to reach his or her highest potential. Before working in Education, Mike was a pioneer in free-to-play games as the CEO of Gaia Online, a virtual world, and the founder of (fluff)Friends, a virtual pets game acquired by SGN. Previously, Mike led an engineering team on Gmail at Google. He studied Computer Science at Stanford, with a focus in Human-Computer Interaction.
