Mike Zarmati has a Bachelor in Physical and Health Education from McGill University and is the founder and director of the Mike Zarmati Soccer Academy, a youth soccer academy located in Montreal that has trained over 500 players between the ages of 5 and 12 since 2009.
Prior to opening his soccer academy, Mike served as the technical director of the Nun's Island Soccer Association from 2008 to 2012. During those 4 years, he ran general training sessions for over 2000 players from 4 to 16 years of age. He developed coaching clinics for over 100 amateur coaches and also developed detailed practice sessions for every age group in the association. Included in his responsibilities was overseeing and helping with the development of all competitive teams.
Since 2005, he has also been the head referee and field director of the Nun's Island Soccer Association. Responsible for training, supervising and assigning referees throughout the season, Mike has managed and trained close to 200 referees since being appointed in 2005. As field director, he oversees the preparation of every field for over 400 games per season, ensures the smooth running of everyday activities and is also responsible for the well-being of players, parents and coaches throughout the season.
Mike is currently the coordinator for the Nun's Island Youth Soccer Development Center. He built the infrastructure for the program and is responsible for such aspects as promoting the center, recruiting players, managing and coordinating all field reservations, as well as all communications with parents. Seeing it as an opportunity to further the development of players in Nun's Island, Mike associated his soccer academy to the development centre and is currently responsible for training 5 different age groups as well as 2 competitive teams.
Finally as a physical and health educator, he currently has the opportunity to continue his passion of teaching and coaching over 250 students at Herzliah High School.
