With an extensive background in community organizing, Milan R. Taylor presently serves as CEO of the Rockaway Youth Task Force (RYTF), which he founded in 2010. As CEO, Milan Taylor maintains responsibility for finding funding and building partnerships. He also maintains a strong Board of Directors and regularly engages staff members, volunteers, partners, and funders.

Based in Queens, RYTF is a grassroots youth advocacy organization that seeks to empower local youth with civic engagement and volunteer opportunities. The organization orchestrated community recovery efforts in Far Rockaway, Queens, after the crushing blow of Hurricane Sandy. As a result of his work with RYTF, Mr. Taylor was a 2013 Do Something Award semi-finalist and a NY1 News Queens Person of the Week.

Milan Taylor attended the City University of New York John Jay College of Criminal Justice where he majored in political science and earned a certificate in dispute and conflict resolution. He is a trained emergency professional and served as a project manager for Ready Rockaway. He also currently serves on Community Board 14 in Queens.
