SANTANA

Milla was born in Bahia, Brazil on September 29th, 1989. At a very early age, her parents noticed her interest in music and singing. Ever since then, they’ve been a huge support for her to develop her God given gifts. She moved to New York City along with her parents at the age of 7 and over the years she’s been involved in school talent shows, church plays, worship teams, studio recordings, and even created an album of her own. She had the opportunity to share God’s love through this album, ministering in many churches, nursery homes, rehab centers, non-profit organization gatherings and so on. In 2001, she won as America’s Most Talented Kid on NBC’S Sally Jessy Show, singing an English version of a song from her album titled, “Take me into Your Arms”. This eventually led her to perform the same song at the “Showtime at the Apollo” at the world famous Apollo Theatre. Other meaningful experiences include the Fine Arts Festival, where thousands of students participate in 58 Fine Arts categories. Milla participated in four categories: English Female Solo, Spanish Female Solo, Vocal Ensemble and Worship Team. In all four categories, she was among the Top 20 in the Nation.

For five consecutive years, Family Church/PIBBNY has been a place where God has strengthened Milla’s faith and guided her towards following not her own dreams, but His. She is extremely passionate about serving God and the church through JAMP. Whether it’s leading worship or helping coordinate JAMP’S youth service, she does it with dedication, believing God has more to do through and for this generation. She is determined to surrender and do whatever is necessary for the Kingdom of God to grow and for His name to be glorified! Milla lives with her family whom she loves dearly–dad, mom, and younger sister. She is currently working towards her BA in Marketing Management and Minor in Communication Studies.
