At 16 I configured my first server at Fedora 8. It was stupid decision, to use Fedora, but it had beautiful UI. After some time I understood, that it was not just stupid, but terrible decision. Server was laggy and full of errors, with opened security holes to whole world. So my first program at Delphi 7 was written - "Program Olympiad Judgement Software" (POJS). It had many errors and terrible look of administrative panel, but it worked!

At 17 I have learned basics of delphi and assembler. This helped me and my friend, which was good at ACM programming, write "App Virtualization software" and win "best project award" at Regional Project Competition.

At 19 I worked at "DV-line" - Ekibastuz ISP company, as Java EE and "1C" programmer. My task was to write billing module, which worked as NAS server with RADIUS protocol support. (Task was completed successfully)

At 20 my university took me as junior system administrator. My responsibilities were:

  • Windows servers administration (DNS, IIS, AD)
  • KABIS system administration (library software)
  • CISCO switches(2960) and routers(1841) configuration
  • CentOS 6.5 server administration (server with WAN access, used as ftp and web server. I configured SELinux, DDOS protection through iptables and massive brutforce protection with iptables+fail2ban)
  • Ubuntu 12.04 server configuration and administration (local web and contest server)
  • Maintenance of staff's PCs (≈350 windows PC)

After 2 months Ubuntu server was hacked and conquerrored by spamers. From this day my "career" of security specialist started. Currently I have passed 2 security courses:

  • WiFU (wireless security)
  • PWK (penetration testing with Kali)

But cause of very limited monetary resources I haven't yet passed official certification.

So, as a result, you have successfully learned about one very young system administrator with IT security specialist's lineaments

  • Work
    • System Administrator
  • Education
    • Suleyman Demirel University
