John David, aka Mini, aka JD, aka Jon Carter, aka @hithiphop, aka @PromoKingsPR became a hip hop fan at a young age and turned that interest into life as a blogger and now a hip publicist and consultant.

In 2007, John's love of hip hop led him to start the blog Hithiphop.com, which gained 10 million + page views over the years. During his time blogging, John was able to interview and release records for some of the most well known rappers in the business, including d12, Kool G. Rap, M.O.P., French Montana, Swizz Beatz, Jon Connor, Shyne, Malice, Belly, Iron Solomon, Dizaster, Vado, S.A.S., Lil Cease, Gudda Gudda, Shyne, Big Boi, Ludacris, Slaughterhouse, Rick Ross, 2Chainz & dozens more.

His blog gained him a great deal of attention in the hip hop world, which led to him writing for several respected hip hop websites like KarenCivil.com and RealTalkNY.net. He also became a go-to expert on hip hop and in 2011 was featured in the August 18th issue of The Montreal Gazette newspaper in an interview for an article about the emergence of hip hop artists beyond Montreal's downtown core.

During his career as a hip hop writer/blogger, John's work/releases have been featured on some of the most influential hip hop blogs in the world such as NahRight.com, YouHeardThatNew.com, XXLMag.com, WorldStarHipHop.com, AllHipHop.com, 2DopeBoyz.com, TheSource.com, Complex.com, VIBE.com & many more.

In 2011, John put his budding blogging career on hold to create the Promo-Kings PR team, a PR firm dedicated to promoting hip hop artists through consulting, online PR campaigns, media placements, event planning, album release events, biography creation, press release creation & press kits creation. To launch off, the firm was the official sponsor for KOTD's "World Domination 2" in Toronto, one of the biggest hip hop battle events of all time. They also ran a successful online promo campaign for platinum selling hip hop artist Obie Trice for his "Bottom's Up" album released in April 2011. Currently the firm is working on campaigns for the release of music from Shady Records artist Ca$his, Fredro Starr of Onyx, Maffew Ragazino, SRH, Loe Pesci, Milli Millz & more. In addition, Promo-Kings has sponsored tours for DJ Premier, Bumpy Knuckles, Jeru Tha Damaja and projects with DJ Rockstar, LowKeyUHTN and DJ Smallz to name a few.

John is set on continuing his work at Promo-Kings PR and has plans to relaunch HitHipHop.com in 2013.
