If you wanna be happy, do something for yourself. But if you wanna be fulfilled, do something for somebody else.“ These are the very words I live by. As a teacher, my goal is to be a facilitator of learning and a mediator of discourse rather than simply telling students what I want them to know. I believe that I can learn from them as much as they can learn from me.

Growing up in a country where music education is often belittled and unappreciated made me realize how much change I wanted to make and how much influence I wanted to give to the society.

Other than the benefits music can give (boost memory, work more effectively, build task endurance, and etc), I believe that music is important because the specific music of a culture makes us feel what it’s like to be part of that culture. Rejecting music is like rejecting our culture.

I established my music school, ”RHYTHM LOUNGE”, to help improve members of a society by using my field of expertise. I believe that each and everyone of us should acknowledge and respect people from different fields and cultures. There should be no discrimination on any field.

With music, I am able to passionately educate my students not only on learning how to play musical instruments, but also teach them about different cultures so that they can learn to see and view life from another perspective and can appreciate other ways of thinking and living.
