I am a Distinguished Communicator and have gone through the Communication Across the Curriculum program. Realizing the importance of communication for my future goals, this program is one of the best resources offered at LSU. CXC brought out my best and prepared me for the real world. In school I sought opportunities that would help me develop my skills. While being involved with numerous activities and organizations during my time at LSU, CXC helped me in all areas of discipline.
The rigorous coursework I had at LSU has prepared me to enter the next step of furthering my education.
Upon graduation, I have continued my education in a graduate program. I am working towards Master of Business Administration, with a specialization in Marketing and Management Consulting at LSU within the E.J. Ourso College of Business. The E.J. Ourso College of Business has a very prestigious program and reputation. The connection within the community of Baton Rouge is very prominent, as well as nationwide.
For the marketing industry, keeping new ideas is a must because the industry is constantly shifting with technology and introducing new products. That aspect of the marketing world is very thrilling. I am very intrigued by technology and being in a market that utilizes the way the world is going, is exciting to me.
I think life opens up pathways to different opportunities and challenges to make you stronger. In that, accepting internships and other opportunities will better me not only as an individual but as a professional. Preparing myself professional for the job I want within my career is the first step to getting where I would like to be.
I want to be the best, educated African American woman I can be. I'm meant to be a change agent. I want to be a positive minority role model, my family and cousins can look up too. In an ever changing society, it's important to have uplifting people in life, whom will motivate and be a burst of energy. I want to be that spark.
