NIR, also known as near infrared light or NIR, is a region of the electromagnetic spectrum that is just beyond the visible light spectrum. It is invisible to the human eye because its wavelengths range from about 700 nanometers (nm) to 2500 nm. By spanning the gap between visible light and longer-wavelength forms of radiation like infrared, NIR has a special place in the electromagnetic spectrum.
