Mir Shariq Mushtaq (20), is a Social Entrepreneur by profession, an activist by passion, a blogger by choice and academically an undergraduate student.
Born of July 7, 1993, Mir Shariq since his childhood had a passion to learn and serve - to serve the needy and our mother earth.
He is in Social Activism since past 3 years and has worked on issues ranging from social to economic to political to environment to human rights and issues concerning woman and children.
He is a certified fellow in Adaptive Leadership, Strategic Negotiation and Communication from Mercy Corps and CM Partners. He has also been awarded by ‘Australia India Institute’ and ‘The Sajid Iqbal Foundation’ for his report ‘Light the Darkness’. ‘Light the Darkness’ is a report on deriving peace in Kashmir and suggests some concrete measures for the political, economic and cross-loc stability of Kashmir. He has been invited and represented the state of Jammu & Kashmir on various national and international platforms.
Concerned about the problem of unemployment and economic dependence of Kashmir, Mir Shariq in 2012 chose to be an entrepreneur. His Business Plan ‘MEDIA MAIL’ won the first prize award at the ‘Start-up Kashmir Business Plan Competition’ organised by Mercy Corps and supported by the Scottish Government. He was the youngest participant in SKYE Project of Mercy Corps.
