My name is Melissa. I am instructional facilitator and educational technology coordinator at a developing virtual hybrid school in California. I enjoy exploring new and old technology and finding unique ways to make subject matter relevant to students and get students involved in their learning. Eight years of teaching youth Bible study has given me a lot of experiences with different kinds of youth. In 2015-16, I began integrating technology into my Bible study lessons and moving toward a more blended, student-centered environment.

Since 2014, I have been assisting with the development of a virtual hybrid school in hometown. I also teach weekly youth Bible studies using many of the practices and concepts I have learned during my time in the masters program. My goal is to create simple lessons that are relevant and applicable to my students' lives.

I hold a masters in educational technology as well as a bachelors in interior design and a minor in Japanese. Currently, I am pursuing a doctorate in educational leadership with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction.

In my spare time, I lead a weekly Japanese study group, volunteer at a Christian organization that reaches out to international students, and run my own interior design business. I enjoy writing, drawing, and photography.
