I moved to Florida in 1995 after 27 years of being born and raised in NY. I grew up with a passion for animals, and always helped the needy, injured, lost, or found. All of my family was interactive with all types of animals and always helping those who needed it. Some of these injured or orphaned, lost or found were a gosling, turtles, chipmunks, baby and adult birds, rabbits, kitties, or dogs. We had no prejudice, just love and healing to give. As I got older I still carried this passion for animals with me. Always having a pet of my own, I found an uncanny ability t transform the feral cats of my community into loving adoptable pets. In time I moved to dogs as well, and shortly after that I became focused on the underdogs, the ones in shelters that rescues and adopters normally overlook due to severity of medical needs. Today I have a full time non profit animals rescue that focuses on the severely injured and emotionally handicapped dogs from a high kill shelter. Many of the dogs come out with shattered bones, severe skin issues, are deemed aggressive because of fear, labeled biters, and fearful. All of these issues are reasons why dogs get left behind, and why I prefer to give them a chance. Most times its the ones with severe issues that end up being the most magnificent and grateful pets. My rescue is in West Palm Beach, and our website is www.misfitresq.org with more information available on Facebook
