Sydney Rogers, MSW — also known as Miss Barbie-Q — is a speaker, facilitator, consultant, writer, performer, and community leader who brings together lived experience, professional leadership, social work, advocacy, and more than three decades in entertainment.

For over 30 years, Sydney has known how to hold a room.

Sometimes that room is a theatre or nightclub. Sometimes it’s a conference, boardroom, classroom, panel, community meeting, or workplace. What connects all of it is her ability to make people listen, think, laugh, connect, and move.

Sydney’s work sits at the intersection of economic empowerment, workforce development, Trans and LGBTQ+ inclusion, racial equity, organizational culture, storytelling, community engagement, and personal transformation.

As Miss Barbie-Q, she brings over 30 years of experience as a drag artist, actor, host, producer, and storyteller. That experience taught her something she carries into every space she enters: you can talk about serious things without losing your humanity, your humor, or your joy.

Sydney’s career crosses nonprofit leadership, social work, workforce development, advocacy, public service, theatre, nightlife, writing, training, and community organizing.

She brings something that can’t be learned from a slide deck alone: the ability to translate lived experience into conversations people can actually use.

Her work has long centered people and communities too often left out of economic opportunity and decision-making, particularly Trans, Gender Nonconforming, Intersex, Black, LGBTQ+, and other historically marginalized communities.

But Sydney’s work isn’t only about identity.

It’s about people.

How we work together. How we lead. How organizations build trust. How people navigate change. How communities create opportunity. And how we turn what we’ve lived through — including the difficult parts — into something useful.
