After 30 years as a curator in four different museums, I wanted to share my love of history. Not the big dramatic events, but all the little bits - snippets, if you will - of what makes ordinary history of regular people so riveting!

And yes, that is a cemetery behind me. I spent a good deal of time at my grandparents' house in Hudson, New York. They lived across the street from the Hudson City Cemetery, which was a great place to play. I loved to wander around and read the tombstones, and wonder about the people and how they lived.

I spend my time visiting historic sites, reading books about history, researching things that interest me, and speaking and writing about history. In my free time, I love sewing historic clothing and accessories.
