It started when I was six: I put together by hand a Holloween costume for my brother - it fell apart- I cried. My mother had the presence of mind to put me on the sewing machine the next day, complete with telphone books so I could reach the pedals. Since then I have sewn, glued, taped, pinned and stapled (didn't you love the eighties?) practiaclly anything I could get my hands on. Now after a whilwind tour of fashion that had me at Parson's School of Design, Paris, to interview with Chanel and Yves ST. Laurent, I am just finshing my studies at the University of Delaware. I find I have returned to my roots and now I am back were I started, sewing anything I can get my hands on, but now with a different sensiblity: we must be kind to the earth and make beautiful things with what we have already.
