MONK is a producer, DJ and MC, initially with pioneering multi-cultural hip-hop band Culture Connect. Of late he is performing with Afro-Jazz masters Black Jesus Experience (BJX) and as a solo vocalist bringing a definitive raw fire to live grooves, hip-hop and electronica. MONK brings 15 years experience on the mic and it shows in his commanding stage presence and powerful raps.

No stranger to the club and festival circuit in Australia, he has also collaborated and performed with international touring acts Mulatu Astake, Ganga Giri, Grilla Step, producer Mista Savona (Sizzla), Combat Wombat, Emdee, and jazz prodigy Aaron Choulai, lending his rap stylings to live reggae and Afro grooves, hip-hop beats, and electronic dance music both on record and at major festivals including Glastonbury (UK), Big Day Out, Rainbow, Eclipse, Big Chill (UK) and Subsonic festivals amongst many others.

Being a festival veteran MONK has developed a high-energy performance with universal appeal mashing his hip-hop foundation with drum & bass emceeing, and splashes of dancehall style vocals to produce a captivating blend. Vocally dynamic and compelling with equal parts food for thought and wild rhythmic exploration, Monk is a diverse and captivating MC.
