My name is Milan Drake.

My passion is program and curriculum development, shaping student education plans, executing workshop and lecture series, and providing mentoring and academic counseling for youth in at-risk environments.

I have sixteen years of experience working with diverse programs in the Bay Area that serve the social needs of young people and their families. These opportunities have given me the ability to develop and implement a variety of curriculum, best practices, experience and teaching strategies to accommodate diverse communities. My many responsibilities have included, but not limited to; overseeing all aspects of short term and long term paid S.T.E.M. internship programs, workforce development program design, academic consulting, one-to-one mentoring, tutor/volunteer management, meta-cognitive/multimedia curriculum design, professional development deaign and developing a culture of student self-accountability for young men of color and low-income students.

I'm currently working with young men and boys of color in health tech providing socio-emotional support and socio-emotional learning curriculum. I am excited and honored to be joining the Alameda County Health Care Services Agency (HCSA) as the Director of the Coding Corps. I work directly with the Alameda County Health Pipeline Partnership (ACHPP) and our partners. Our current project strives to develop and deliver a successful Digital Futures Campaign that connects low-opportunity young people to high-quality health tech and tech jobs, across all sectors of the U.S. economy.
