What I’ve done before:

In 2003, I founded my first internet company, in Amsterdam. I participated in 100+ new and cross-media ventures. Some examples are the Dutch Wonen.nl and Autohuren.nl websites which I sold successfully in 2008.

At the same time, I helped some multinationals switch their efforts and budgets from offline to online and build their digital (marketing) strategies. To name a few: Reckitt Benckiser, Kroymans Corporation, and National Car Rental.

From 2006 until 2010 I was responsible for business development at the Red Light District in Amsterdam (coffeeshops, restaurants, window brothels and sex clubs). Later, I owned two sex clubs in the area myself. I also invented the first ”webcam brothel” in the world - a webcam sex website were clients could actually meet girls in real live in one of the brothels. I made a successful exit in 2010 by selling these businesses to Ymere and the Dutch government as a part of “project 1012”. I'm currently writing a book about my experience during that time.

In 2013, I decided to join ReachLocal Europe (NASDAQ: RLOC) as their Principal Marketing Expert - working in close collaboration with Google and Facebook - until 2016.
