Mitch Champagne

Mitch Champagne graduated with a B.Sc. from Trent University, Peterborough, ON, and completed a B.Ed. and M.Sc. through Medaille College, Buffalo, N.Y. Although Mitch has been an elementary teacher with PVNCCDSB for the last ten years, throughout that time he also worked in the post-secondary field. Mitch joined the Faculty of Education and Trent International Program at Trent University, where he has been a part-time faculty member for the last six years.

Along with being an Ontario Elementary Catholic Teacher’s Association representative, Mitch is the General Vice President of CUPE 3908, specializing in bargaining, grievances, and membership advocacy and rights.

Along with web development and writing his own educational technology blog, “The Technoliterate”, he is a regular contributor for “A Platform for Good” and “The Family On-line Safety Institute.” Mitch is passionate about helping families teach their children about digital citizenship. In the lecture hall, he inspires educators to teach for the future. He is currently working towards building platforms to help facilitate collaborative learning in and out of the classroom.
