Hi, I'm Mitchell and I believe that it is each individuals responsibility to better the lives of those around us. I once heard a story of a man walking along the side of a beach. Along the shore of the beach thousands of star fish had been washed up. By the end of the hot day, all of these star fish surely would die from the intense heat of the sun. As this man was walking along the beach, he would pick up a star fish and throw it back into the water. A little boy ran up to the man and asked "Why are you throwing the star fish in the water? There's no way you'll save them all!" The man took a second, and responded. He said "If you can save even one star fish, why not do it? Because if everyone saves at least one, then all of them can survive."

With this story in mind, I try and live my life by trying to help at least one star fish. Whether it be by taking a role on the philanthropy board of my fraternity, being the community outreach coordinator of the Isenberg management association, or even just giving a dollar to someone in need, helping at least one person can make a difference.
