MITHUN SIKDAR

Mithun Sikdar is working as Superintending Anthropologist (Physical) under Anthropological Survey of India, Southern Regional Center, Mysore. He received his MSc (2004) and PhD (2010) in Anthropology from Dibrugarh University, Assam, India. Sikdar's doctoral work focuses on the perennial flood situation in Assam and its impact on physical health of a particular tribal population. Apart from that he contributed a large part of his initial career to investigate on the gobin gene distribution and its impact on the health in different population groups in Northeast India.

His special areas of interest includes Pediatric Auxology, Genetic Demography, Forensic Anthropology, Molecular Anthropology.
