RnD with industrialists that you know at University of Derby and Rolls Royce Institute.

UNIVERSITY of Derby have just advertised 40 Ph.D bursaries across the University, there may be an opportunity to sponsor Ph.D / research assistants performing R&D in key areas for industralist along the lines of the Rolls-Royce University Technical Centre philosophy which creates significant impact for them.

I am interested in development RnD industrial it 4.0. My request is to see if we may achieve this together.

University contacts, which will serve Industrialist R&D technology roadmap, and your company’s positioning in Europe.

I talked to 12 Universities in Germany, Austria and UK with criteria as follows:

English language proficiency of students and professors should be a “must”;University should have solid track record in projects with industries (not only long-term R&D, but clear deliverables);University should have solid track record of startups and founders coming out of it;University should have a High-Tech Incubator, and University should have disciplines in research, which fit into industralist current &target technologies and focus areas.

To my surprise, German Universities and R&D Facilities (like Frauenhofer) did not score positively in my research:

Many professors were not fluent in English. Alot of studies were focused on long-term R&D instead of delivering clear benefits to companies within 18 to 36 months of co-operations. In many cases professors were interested only in funds without articulating, how these will be utilized.

I currently suggest you talk to one top university in the UK, which scored highest in all my research criteria.

I will introduce you to decision makers, and you will get a chance to meet international industry located there (e.g., Rolls Royce).
