Marco Mizzau is Chairman of Blacktrace, a London-based strategic advisory boutique focused on private capital, AI-driven transformation, infrastructure platforms and industrial strategy.
He is an Italian executive and international strategic advisor with experience leading complex organizations, institutional platforms and large-scale transformation programs across financial services, infrastructure, technology, healthcare and industrial sectors.
Mr. Mizzau previously held senior institutional roles in Italy, including Chief Executive Officer of Consip, the national procurement platform owned by the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, managing over €27 billion in annual spend (approximately 1.8% of GDP). Under his leadership, Consip completed the full digitalization of public procurement two years ahead of national targets, generating over €4 billion in savings and establishing the platform as a benchmark for large-scale digital marketplaces and industrial contracting systems.
Prior to this, Mr. Mizzau served as Chief Executive Officer of Inarcassa, one of Italy’s largest institutional investors (€14 billion AUM), where he launched the fund’s first Industrial and ESG strategies, expanded allocations to private markets and infrastructure, and promoted system-level investments in the real economy.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Mizzau was Chief Operating Officer of Campus Bio-Medico University Hospital, where he led large-scale operational and infrastructure transformation programs, and spent over a decade at Accenture, EY and KPMG, advising leading industrial groups, energy utilities and infrastructure operators across Europe and the Middle East.
Mr. Mizzau began his career at Ferrovie dello Stato, Italy’s largest infrastructure and transportation group, contributing to early privatization and industrial transformation initiatives.
Mr. Mizzau is also the founder of Private Equity AI and Project AI, independent platforms exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on geopolitics, industrial competitiveness and value creation.
