One year from today I will toe the start line at the 41st Marine Corps Marathon.
This will not be my first marathon, but I am giving myself a full year to get in shape to run it… I have set some shorter term goals and will use this blog to keep me accountable to my plan, and hopefully find some support from other runners, whether beginners or seasoned veterans, along the way!
I ran my last marathon in June of 2013, and haven’t been a very consistent runner since… It’s actually fair to say that I haven’t been much of a runner for the past year. With that in mind, I am approaching my ultimate goal as a novice runner, but hope my muscles have some memory and that I can build miles swiftly and without injury.
I welcome you to join me in any capacity you wish — as a fellow runner, a cheerleader, or just because you are curious about the mindset of someone who actually enjoys running 26.2 miles for free beer and a t-shirt.
