Mirjan Oude Vrielink
Mirjan Oude Vrielink (1972) studied Public Administration at the University of Twente, the Netherlands. In 2002 she received her Ph.D. from the same university. In her dissertation she combined socio-legal and public administrative insights regarding the way neighbours settle conflicts about noise (titledGeschilprocessen tussen buren over geluidshinder).
After receiving her Ph.D. Mirjan Oude Vrielink was assistant professor in public administration, first at the University of Twente (2002-2006) and than at the University of Tilburg (2006-2010). Currrently, she is senior researcher at the Department of Political Science and Research Methods (PolMT) at the University of Twente.Her research focuses on regulation, with a special interest in self-regulation, codes and public accountability. A second line of research concerns(mostly qualitative) analysis of practices of citizenship, government - civil society relationships and innovations in governance. She participated in and led national research projects, funded by national and local government departments or by private non-profit organisations.
From 2002-2007 Mirjan Oude Vrielink was a member of the board of the Law and Society Association (LSA), the Dutch/Flemish Law and Society Association (VSR). Since 2004, she is member of the editorial board of the Dutch journal Bestuurskunde. In 2006 she joined the editorial board of the Dutch journal Recht der Werkelijkheid.
