Student, Software Engineer, and Project Manager in Natal, Brazil
Hey, my name is Michel. I was born in Rio de Janeiro. I am currently living in Natal and I long to know new people, other cultures, and more countries.
I am currently an IT undergraduate student at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN) and, even though I am open to new paths, I am at this time focusing on Software Engineering.
During the period of one year I was also a Software Engineering student at University of West Florida (UWF) in the city of Pensacola.
This great opportunity came as consequence of my successful application for a government funded internship program called Ciência Sem Fronteiras (Science Without Borders).
Before that I was a Computer Engineering student for three years at Instituto Infnet, in Rio de Janeiro.
At UWF I worked as an intern for three months on the SmartHome project. This project was initiated to collect information from private homes. We used sensors and the localization of its residents to generate output by using an Amazon Echo device.
My skill set consists of knowledge and ability with Java, C, C++, Web and Javascript programming. I also have knowledge with mobile development, project management, and databases (SQL and NOSQL).
In my late teens I lived in England for five months, more specifically in the beautiful city of Brighton.
That was my first time living in a country other than Brazil, where I improved my english, got to meet a diverse variety of people from all over the world, and fell in love with travelling.
Apart from travelling, I love video games, e-sports, animals, music, movies, beer, getting to know new people and languages! I intend to learn several languages in my life and I am deciding on either german or japanese as a second non-native language to study.
Thank you for your time and interest.
