I'm Michelle and I'm a Community Relations Professional. I grew up in Minnesota and was involved in many activities. I always knew I wanted to work in sports and that I wanted to help people, so I figured doing community relations for a team was the best way to get the best of both worlds (I get to help athletes and the team as a whole reach out and help the community that supports them season after season).I graduated in 2013 from Aquinas College(MI) with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration/Sport Management with a minor in Communications.During the 2013 Season I was a Community Relations/Promotions intern with the Asheville Tourists (Class A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies). I helped take inventory and keep the team store stocked. I was also responsible for keeping track of and filling donation requests and helping with player and mascot appearances. I also kept track of reading program participants and helped with the on-field promotions.I was hired to work full-time with the Tourists in January 2014 as the Community Relations Manager (a position which I held until May 2015). I was in charge of getting pocket schedules out, the reading program, on field promotions, and the game day script. I also set up and attended player and mascot appearances, ran our Baseball Buddies Program, and was the main contact for our fundraising program.I'm searching for a job with a sports team where I will be able to grow and where my ideas will be welcomed and considered.
