Dr. Khosrowshahi (Dr.K.) is a professor of political science, Fulbright scholar, and founder and director of the "Middle East Outreach Program" at Tyler Junior College. He also teaches at the University of Texas at Tyler. He has received dozens of prestigious awards. He has been selected as the "Texas Professor of the Year " by the Carnegie Foundation and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education in Washington D.C. He is also a recipient of the Piper Professor award in 2010. Furthermore, he is the recipient of "Endowed Chair Award for Teaching Excellence" by his peer, and the winner of Baker award (teaching excellence) and Dr. Martin Luther King's Award for non-violent social change. In 2012, Dr.K. was the winner of "the Best Advisor of Year" award.
He has been a Post Doctoral Fellow at the University of Texas at Austin, the United States Institute of Peace and Rice University, a Fulbright Scholar at Turkey, Thailand and Mexico. He serves as a board member and web master at the Middle East Outreach Council (Nationwide network of Middle East centers).
Dr. K. is an Internet veteran of 20 years and an e-learning expert. He has been offering the online courses since 1996 via cyber-learning to prepare students to be digital citizens of the
world. As a technology consultant, he has given many convocation speeches, conducted technology training session for faculty and students around the country.
"Dr. K." is a recipient of numerous grants from the United States Department of Education, Middle East Institute, Middle East Policy Council, United States Institute of Peace, Texas Council for the Humanities (NEH), and the Texas Commission on the Arts to name only a few. He is a frequent speaker to academic, civic and religious groups.
As a global education expert, he has extensive field work and travel experience in the Middle East, Far East and Near East. Partnering with Johnson County Community College (Kansas), Dallas Community College, and Sam Houston University, he has lunched travel/study programs in Turkey. He has been a consultant to the State Department, the National Security Educational Program of Defense Department and Department of Education. As part of his research in international education, he has traveled to Turkey (since 1998 twenty times), England, Japan, Thailand, Iran, Germany, Canada, and Mexico. He is fluent in English, Azeri Turkish, Turkey Turkish (Modern), Farsi, and
