Margaret Skains

Margaret Louise Skains is a mixed-media artist who specializes in realistic graphite art. She was born and raised in El Centro California. She has always been creative but focused on the musical side throughout her childhood. Margaret attended Southwest High School and participated in the varsity band all four years. She was nominated section leader three consecutive years and graduated as President of the varsity band. After graduation, Margaret enrolled at a local community college as a music major and later transferred to a community college in San Luis Obispo Ca where she participated in a wind symphony.

During her time in college, Margaret delved into painting. After being commissioned for paintings by friends and family, Margaret realized a true passion for the arts and decided to build a life around a true multimedia concept. With a creative mind, Margaret’s passion evolves into something new from day to day. One day she focuses on music, the next, a graphite portrait, the day after that; poetry. Instead of choosing one medium to stick with, Margaret decided to dedicate her life to all forms of art.

With the multimedia concept in mind, Margaret decided to create MLS Creative Studios. In November of 2012, Margaret launched MLSCreativeStudios.com in order to showcase works for sale, as well as to keep followers and fans updated on current and up-coming events in Margaret’s life. Eventually, Margaret plans to open a storefront featuring many types of art. Anything from drawings, and paintings to poetry or even blown glass depending on where passion takes her.

Currently, Margaret is raising funds to open a storefront.
