My name is Mmakwena Maponyane. I am currently a fourth-year student at the University of Johannesburg(UJ) studying towards becoming a high school Mathematics teacher. In becoming a teacher I want to try and make mathematics as a subject more appealing and interesting to learners. some of the things I aspire to accomplish as a teacher is to help learners explore what their really interested in and help them learn the value of education. Whether or not they are looking to go the university route

I am currently a tutor at UJ, tutoring ICT to first years. I am also in charge of helping a group of first-year students acclimate to the university space especially as everything is moved online. I also volunteer to tutor high school learners on the weekends
