Mmalebotho Confidence Tsia

Student and Volunteer in Johannesburg

I am a passionate and engaged third year student teacher at the University of Johannesburg, I major in English and Physical education. My commitment for both intellectual and physical development of my future learners is evident in my studies. Beyond academics I'm interested in sport and cooking. My teaching philosophy is shaped by influential educational theories. I firmly believe in duty for the sake of duty theory, emphasizing the inherent moral obligation of teaching profession. This is complemented by humanist approach and Vygotsky's sociocultural theory. These theories recognize individual growth, well-being of learners, crucial role of social interaction and cultural context in cognitive development. My philosophy is also rooted in Ubuntu paradigm, advocating for interconnectedness, community and shared humanity within the classroom and beyond. I am also attending ballet classes and a volunteer at the university partaking in community engagement programs and events.
