Micki Marciano

Washington, Dc Metro Area

Hello Everyone! My name is Maya Alexander but I am known artistically as, Micki Marciano. I am from Washington, DC where I attended Duke Ellington School of the Arts for theatre, technical design and production. Before I get to deep into myself I must let you know that before I am anything else, I am an ARTIST. I think outside of the box and I believe that rules were made to be broken. Now, before you start thinking that I'm crazy.. let me explain.

I started out with humble beginnings. I was bounced around from place to place and I never really had anywhere to call home. I've been on my own since I was 14 and all I've ever had to depend on was myself. I dont want to make this into a Lifetime movie so I'll leave out all the sad details. All you need to know is that I've worked hard my entire life to make sure that I didnt become a statistic. During the darkest times in my life, I always found solace in music. Whenever I needed money, all the guys in my old neighborhood would pay me to sing their favorite song or spit a fresstyle. I've always been good at entertaining people. I love to talk... which you can probably telll by how long this post is. Just know, when I mean that rules are made to be broken I mean that I dont abide by the limits that society has set for where I should be in life or who I should be. I am the woman I am today because I fought to become her and I refuse to let a simple "No" or a detour in my road to success stop or hinder my grind. I work hard so I can play even harder. I sing. I rap. I write and produce my own music. In every word that flows from my mouth or every melody that I create, I provide a glimpse of my life for everyone to see. I want people to understand me and why I am the way I am.

Anyway, just to wrap it up... I currently attend Tennessee State University where I am a sophomore majoring in mass communications with a concentration in audio engioneering and media production. I've produced my own show for the campus radio station, WTST The Blaze and have helped with the production of various shows in the campus theatre. I intend to make a huge impact on the Nashville music scene as well alongside my production team "Headphone Gang Music Group".

I love fashion. I love to laugh and to make other people laugh. I aspire to inspire. My goal in life is to make people's lives better by sharing my pain. I want someone to say that it was because of me that they didn't give up. In order to do thi
