Originally from the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, May Medallada is a dedicated communications professional in San Diego, CA. She currently operates her own social media marketing business, offering strategic planning, campaign implementation, training workshops, and an array of other social media services for small businesses.

She graduated from Towson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communication: Public Relations & Advertising.

May thrives on staying involved, connected to her peers, and educated on the latest industry trends. She is an active member of the Public Relations Society of America's San Diego/Imperial Counties chapter, previously serving as the Communications Chair of the New Professionals Committee and currently serving as the Programming Chair of the Diversity Committee/Program Manager of the Public Relations Enrichment Program for high school students. May is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Communication & Leadership from Gonzaga University.

In addition to offering social media consulting services, May also operates HOPE Diaries, an online resource to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental illness and spread positivity to people battling with depression and suicidal thoughts.

In the future, May hopes to pursue her PhD to continue researching and developing communication theory, as well as teach college communication courses.
