I'm Michelle, a people-person, a feminist, an avid reader, a sociable introvert, a learner, a scuba diver, a scrapbooker, a crocheter, a gardener, a traveler, and a nature-lover. I look for ways to help and connect with interesting, passionate people.

I have degrees in English Literature and History, a background in teaching, and am now involved in all things people. People are what get me out of bed in the morning (besides coffee) and I work with the best people out there, both internally at my company and throughout our global freelancer network.

I believe that if you invest in people's happiness, in their training and development, and in figuring out what makes them tick (oh and treating them like a human being) you can change the world.

How do I put this into action?

 As a company leader and strategist, I promote Wordbank’s approach to localization that leads to better bottom line results. While our competitors operate like translation factories, we aim to develop long term mutually beneficial relationships with our clients and freelancers. I have recently made appearances as a speaker and at the Colorado Translators Association Annual Conference and as a panelist at LocWorld Berlin. As a manager of our global network of freelancers, I’ve developed a resource model and strategy based on respect, fair payment, and collaboration that drives our interactions with our freelancers.

 Putting my learning and teaching strengths to use, I like to compile information that will be helpful to others and have used this to helping to build our internal training program.

 Since happy people are more creative, productive, and engaged with company goals, I’ve worked to build a happiness team that plans cultural and social events designed to bring people together and contributes to an inclusive, values-based culture.
