Melissa May Lassooy

Sommelier, IBL Student, and Traveller in Rotterdam, Nederland

Since I was a young girl I have dreamed of exploring the world and speaking many languages. When I graduated for HAVO in High School with three foreign languages, I finally had the opportunity to plan out my gap year and decided to travel the world.

I left for Australia in March 2014, travelled along the East-Coast, worked at different places and got to improve my English skills. I was fascinated by the lifestyle the "Aussies" live by and their friendly mentality, that I decided to stay for longer.
In total I spend almost two and a half years in Australia, visiting Indonesia a couple of times during that time.

During my travels I decided to find myself a course that would fit my interests; International Business and Languages.
Being very content I chose this course, I now study in French, German and English. I also focus on Communication, Marketing, Finance, Law and Research.

In addition to my interests for travelling and languages, I am a passionate musician and study wines and wine regions at my work at a Winebar in Rotterdam.

By combining my interest in cross cultural connections and international business, I am very interested in new travel applications that encourage people to see more of the world. Travelling should be accessible for everyone through these new travel applications!
