I'm attracted to common scenes--nothing posed, nothing staged. Just ordinary places, items, and people that exhibit a unique color, lighting, pattern, or vibration. I travel a great deal in developing nations, and the opportunity to capture some of the transitions and auras as those countries move towards the new landscape of 2050 is a remarkable and exciting opportunity.
Much of my work was shot with a massive, heavy, and fantastic Nikon DSLR. But traveling demands something lighter, so the newer photos are shot with a Leica M9. Trading speed and weight for precision and elegance. A done deal. The stealth aspect of the M9 is an added bonus.
